    • Ahhh Nice

Posted by Rexy on 23 April 2010

We had some great dinners night after night, especially when you have daily access to the local produce market and freshly made pasta from the shop next door. We were also in gelato central.

We debated about this a lot (carbon emissions, fuel costs, finding parking etc.) but after realizing that back-packing (or  hauling bags) around Europe is really more of a romantic, sometimes limiting, and more expensive notion …

    • Snow in Barcelona?!?

Posted by Rexy on 11 March 201022 September 2023

Even during the tail end of winter, Barcelona still shines as one of the most vibrant cities we have ever visited. It pretty much has everything - a vibrant culture and art scene, beautiful beaches, and more.

    • Oooh la la Paris

Posted by Rexy on 2 March 2010

We landed at the Charles De Gaulle airport in the early afternoon - wide-eyed, frisky, marvelled, relieved for cooler weather, and ready for another adventure. Hopping onto the RER, we made our way towards the city. While gazing out the window and hoping for signs of an early spring, we were suddenly serenaded by French accordion music from down the train car. It was at that moment that we really knew we were in Paris.

Posted by Rexy on 4 February 2010

This little island is quite amazing. The emerald, sea green ocean, the long stretch of white sandy beaches paralleled with an abundance of restaurants of various cuisines .... and of course, buffets with "bottom-less iced teas" that try to under price and out smörgåsbord each other (we found one for as low as PHP 250).

    • Baler – the hidden gem of the Philippines

Posted by Rexy on 31 January 2010

We literally only had less than 12 hours in Baler but I can share this much, we’ll definitely be back again to explore this hidden gem in the Aurora province. [wp_geo_map] The drive from Manila …

    • Memories from the Homeland

Posted by Rexy on 25 January 201022 September 2023

I officially arrived to the land of my mother and father's on January 26th, 2010. It took me 33 years to do it but hey, I made it. While waiting for our bags, seeing my Filipino country-men and hearing the familiar Tagalog accents eerily made me feel like I was back home, living with my parents again.

It was our first time in Hawaii and more significantly our first reintroduction to North American culture. When we landed at the airport it felt so surreal that we were actually here.

      Last days in Nepal

Posted by Rexy on 16 January 20105 August 2024

Our last days in Nepal was such a whirl-wind of affairs – packing, final travel arrangements, dog-sitting, more packing, and of course saying good-bye to good friends, who for most may take quite a long …
