Charles Wilfred Elviss

ELVISS, Wilfred Charles – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of W.C. “Charlie” Elviss on March 21st, 2011.

Charlie was predeceased by his loving wife Frankie in 2009. Surviving family includes children Terese (David), Charlene, Randy (Monika); grandchildren Tlell, Andrew, Emmie, Alfred, Cara, Kaelyn and Cassie; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews & extended family.

Charlie was born and raised on the family farm in Brock, Saskatchewan where he learned the value of hard work and family commitment. As a young man, Charlie was the pitcher for the Rosetown Wheat Kings baseball team, a time he remembered as one of the best in his life. Charlie started his Pharmacy career as a pharmacy assistant in Rosetown, Saskatchewan. After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan, Charlie and his colleagues joined the RCAF and served four years overseas. Upon his return, Charlie married his long time love Francis Blaine and together they moved to Watrous, Sask. where they opened Watrous Rexall Pharmacy and started their family. Charlie was very involved in community organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Town Council, Kinsmen etc. He received many awards for his civic efforts including Citizen of The Year. Charlie and Frankie moved to Kelowna in 1991 and thoroughly enjoyed retirement living in the Okanagan. Charlie will always be remembered for his sense of humour and quick wit. If we don`t see you in the future, we will see you in the pasture.

A Celebration of Charlie’s Life will be held on Monday, March 28th, 2011 at 1:00 PM from St. Paul’s United Church , 3131 Lakeshore Road. Charlie will be laid to rest with Frankie in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
